Makeysha Fitchett-Murray has resided in Philadelphia since her birth. She is a proud mother of three beautiful children. She’s been married since September 2000 to her husband Donald Stephen Murray. They have been together since 1992. Her mentor is her grandmother, Mrs. Irene Brown. Her grandmother is the individual that helped her discover her talent for designing and developing clothing. Exquizite Creations, Inc. is a full service Event Coordination Company that specializes in a multitude of event such as Weddings, Anniversary Parties, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Bachelor/ or Bachelorette Parties, Bar Mitzvahs‘, Sweet 16 Parties, Proms, and much, much more. We are located in the Roxbourgh section of Philadelphia, Pa. I’m currently working out of my own personal residence. The number to contact us is 267.506.0260. What motivated you to open your own business?

My motivation to open this particular business was witnessing countless friends, and family members unhappy with the outcome of their special events. Events for individuals are Memory stamps to the soul. Being unable to create your personal vision for your special day is devastating, which is why we here at Exquizite Creations Inc work studiously to obtain what our client want.

Did you have any initial fears or concerns that you had to overcome when opening your business?

 Failure is always a fear to most people. Failure not to do anything is worst. Initially I was afraid that I would not be able to compete in this business because of the many things but I had to overcome them because I would have been more devastated if I did not go after my dream at all.

How did you develop your concept?

 I love Couture, and I just love Exquizite things. I love a Bride to have the mannerism, the stature, and the pure Elegance of a bride. Forego my vision that every Bride or Celebrator on their day should be Exquizite!

How much capital did you need to get started? Did you use any creative funding sources?

I’ve invested approximately $700.00 dollars into this company from my own savings.

How do you market your business? Do you use any creative marketing strategies?

I’m marketing my Company by going out to different venues, introducing myself to countless vendors. I’ve also just introduce myself to individuals I meet on a daily basis. Face book is also an excellent source.

How do you manage employees if any?

In this form of business there can be a lot of stressful situation you will come across via from the clients or the vendors. My assistant manages me with patience, and understanding. Lol! With her she also has the same passions that I have, and she is very willing to help with any aspect, or disasters that may come.

What are some of your day to day struggles as a business owner? There are many struggles with is type of business…. Time is always limited.

How do you balance work life and family? Do your work demands affect your relationships?

Actually, I came up with a concept to never allow the different fractions of my life to ever intermingle with each other. I know it may sound impossible, but very possible. I will never allow my work interfere with my family.

Any advice you’d like to offer to anyone interested in your line of work?

Do it!!!…… Be aware that there may be some disappointments, but also know there will be many rewards
