“The Purpose-Driven D.I.V.A.”
Let’s Bring Classy Back!
My name is Stefanie Carter; I am a 29 year old parent of 2 (1 biological, 1 stepson that I’ve helped raise for the past 2 years). I am also a recent graduate of Jefferson University nursing school in Philadelphia, PA. 2.5 years ago my husband was laid off from his job and 5 months later I was also down-sized; it was a major setback and stress, but it was a blessing because I was planning to go back to school anyway. The first year was pretty smooth and funds were sufficient to take care of bills and treat the kids, but the past year was quite challenging (we didn’t think it would take so long for my husband to find a full-time job), as the months went by, the unemployment checks dwindled. The past 2 years was a major hurdle for my family, but we’ve been blessed through the struggle; my domestic duties have taken on heavier proportions. I’ve learned how to make the following from scratch: corn dogs, pizza, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, spaghetti sauce, and chicken nuggets; all to save money!! My husband and I will have been married 2 years in August and he’s gotten the short end of the deal with his “bride;” due to my schooling and tight funds he’s only seen me in scrubs, jeans and T’s, and (in his words) a scowl. I would love for him to see me pretty and flirty in one of your dresses; it would definitely make me smile and be the wife he hasn’t been able to see in the past 2 years. I graduated June 1st from TJU with honors; this is an especially spectacular feat due to the special circumstances that I battled during my schooling. I told my husband that I didn’t need (or deserve) new clothes, while I was in school, because the family made sacrifices for me to achieve a goal that I set forth, but now that I’ve reached it….I feel like I need and deserve one of your beautiful dresses!!
