Anya Nicole grew up in a drug and crime plagued household and neighborhood in Philadelphia, but she strived to break the mold and became the first person in her family to graduate from college. Anya uses the world around her as a palate to create chilling street stories such as Corporate Corner Boyz (2008) and Judgment Day (2010). Divas, Diamonds & Dollars (June 2010) is Anya’s first project under her publishing house, Black Reign Publications. She also counsels at-risk youths.

Shay Olivarria is a motivational speaker, financial literacy coach, former foster care youth, and author of 10 Things College Students Need to Know about Money.  As an ambassador for financial freedom, Shay travels all over the country to educate people on responsible financial decisions. Shay is dedicated to community activism and specializes in mentoring gang-involved and at-risk youth, and has been able to channel her life experience into her professional and entrepreneurial efforts.

C.Nicole Swiner, MD is currently a Family Physician in Durham, NC, and has worked in a clinic owned by the University of North Carolina since 2007, after completing her residency training there. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University where she was active in the local Durham community through her civic work with her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta  Sorority, Inc. She also serves as an Associate Professor at UNC and has interests in minority health, gynecology, and pediatrics. Dr. Swiner currently writes a column for her local newspaper.

Kameron Leigh Matthews, MD, Esq. completes her Chief Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago in June 2010, and will be subsequently joining the medical staff at Cermak Health Services of Cook County with the Cook County Department of Corrections.  She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University, and her law degree from University of Chicago.  Her career interests lie in patient education, the elimination of health care disparities, and mentoring of future young physicians and professionals.

Mikenda Early is  a proud mother of three and currently resides in Nashville,TN. She works diligently with a non-profit organization named In Full Motion which prepares the youth in her community with the skills to achieve high ACT Scores so they may be able to go to college. She’s also pursuing a degree in Nursing at Nashville State while working on her first novel.

Kimberly Allman, Esq. is a financial planner and the President of Allman Financial Planning, LLC where she assists individuals who are seeking to improve their financial health.  She is also the Manager of Homeownership Preservation for the New York Mortgage Coalition where she provides assistance to homeowners in distress through seminars, informational workshops and one-on-one counseling.  She started her career as a corporate lawyer where she advised clients on a variety of investment products including hedge funds, mutual funds, structured products and real estate investment trusts.

 

Elaine Broaster-White is the mother of three wonderful, intelligent children and the wife of the most perfect husband, whose absolutely perfect for her. But most importantly she is a child of the King, the most High God, Jesus Christ. She is studying to get her degree in Social Work so she can help those without a voice and continue to be an eve stronger force in her community.
